Thousands of pounds of substitute liquid eggs sold with two popular brands have been revoked due to the potential risk of infection with a cleaning solution, federal security regulators said.
Cargill kitchen solutions in Lake Odessa, mich, reminded about 212,268 pounds of products under the Bob Evans egg labels and labels because they may contain sodium -hypochlorite cleaning solution, also known as Bleach, said the Security Service and Inspection Service.
The products are shipped for distribution to Ohio and Texas and for the use of food services in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Iowa.
“There is a chance that the products were distributed nationally,” the organization said.
The Cargill Kitchen solutions did not respond immediately to the investigations on Sunday, but on a phone recording telephone, the company said it was voluntary.
“We have issued this revocation from an abundance of attention, because some of the product may contain unpublished sodium hyplree -sided,” the company said.
The Food Inspection and Inspection Service said it had received a advice on the dynamic contamination of products with whitening, sometimes highlighted sodium hypochlorite.
“Following a search and thorough evaluation of the content of the cleaning solution, FSIS scientists concluded that the use of this product should not cause adverse health consequences or risk is negligible, resulting in Class III revocation,” the Agency said.
The organization also noted that the health risks to consumers were relatively low and that there were no reports of adverse reactions. “Anyone who is worried about an illness must contact a health care provider,” the organization said.
He warned customers not to consume potentially contaminated products and throw them away or return them to the store where they bought them.
Egg liquid products were produced on 12 and 13 March 2025 and carry the G1804 label to their cartons, the organization said.
The recall came as consumers are looking for alternatives to eggs due to rising prices and shortages in supermarkets at national level. Recall also comes as other products may have been infected with bird flu in poultry and cows in the United States.
Although egg prices have recently been reduced, stress for their cost continues and many consumers have become creative in finding substitutes, such as liquid egg products.
