Frontier Airlines said on Wednesday that it was offered to buy Spirit Airlines three years after the failure of a previous proposed agreement. Frontier has been assigned its offer and cash to more than $ 2.1 billion, much less than the $ 2.9 billion deal that airlines had announced in early 2022.
Spirit abandoned the previous agreement in favor of a Counteroffer by Jetblue Airways, which was eventually blocked in court by the Justice Ministry last year. After a series of failures, including failure to renegotiate his debt, the spirit was bankrupt in November.
