President Trump persuaded several Fox News hosts to leave the network and take on important roles in his management.
Now a Trump is involved in the network.
Lara Trump, Mr Trump’s bride and a former Republican Party co -chair, will begin hosting a new weekend show at Fox News on February 22, the network announced on Wednesday.
The president and his children are frequent visitors to Fox News. But there is no precedent for the close relative of a living room president to accommodate a high -profile demonstration in an important television channel.
“My view with Lara Trump” is expected to release Saturdays at 9 pm East will include a mixture of analysis and influential interviews. The network describes the show as focused on “Return of common sense in all corners of American life”, reflecting a term, “common sense” that Trump’s administration has often developed.
Mrs Trump, 42 years old, who is married to President Eric’s son, is not a stranger in a television studio. He has worked for several years as a producer at “Inside Edition”, and served as a Fox News partner from March 2021 to December 2022.
“Lara was overall professional and physical when she was with us years ago,” Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, told the New York Times in a message on Wednesday. “He is very talented and he is a powerful, effective communication with great potential as a host.”
Last year, at the urging of her father, Ms Trump ran and was elected a co -chair of the Republican National Commission. It has helped to oversee party finances, electoral operations and the Milwaukee candidate contract. Left the role last month.
Mrs Trump told a reporter in December that she would “consider it seriously” the pursuit of the Senate headquarters in Florida evacuated by Marco Rubio, who is now a minister. Until January, however, he was in discussions with Ms Scott about a formal role with the network.
The presidential descendants have taken jobs on the television networks in the past, but not while their father (or, in the case of Mrs Trump, father).
Jenna Bush Hager joined NBC’s “Today” in 2009, a few months after her father, George W. Bush, ended his second term. It is now a basic breakfast planning of the NBC. Chelsea Clinton worked at NBC News from 2011 to 2014, after her father was president, though at a time when her mother, Hillary Clinton, served as a foreign minister. Chelsea Clinton was a specialist correspondent who focused on the stories of characteristics of human interest.
Mrs Trump returns to Fox News as the network reaches new levels of sovereignty of evaluations. Since Election Day, Fox News has had 636 more watching television shows in all cable news. Last month, the network recorded the highest January since its founding in 1996.
The President occasionally mourns his coverage at Fox News and he and the network have passed through periods of frozen energy, including four months, in late 2022 and early 2023, when Mr Trump-who had just announced the His candidacy for elections – did not appear in a single show.
The Trump-Fox relationship is now on fairly stable soil. Rupert Murdoch, the media tycoon who controls the network, watched Mr Trump’s inauguration and spent time at the Oval Office with the president. Pete Hegseth and Sean Duffy left their positions in Fox in the fall to become Mr Trump’s defense and transfer secretaries.
Mrs Trump, who grew up in Wilmington, NC, married Eric Trump in 2014 and told the Times in July that she often talked to her father -in -law, mainly about political issues and sometimes about music. (Mrs Trump is an amateur singer.) Last year, while serving as a Republican Party co -chair, she promised “four years of stormy land when Donald Trump repeats the White House”.
Today’s Fox News Saturday passenger Brian Kilmeade will move to Sundays at 10 pm
