One person was killed and several others were injured when a man drove a car to a large number of lunch in the southwestern German city of Mannheim, police said on Monday.
Police said the driver had been arrested and that they were investigating if other perpetrators were involved.
Details of the driver were not released. Police did not say if they thought the crash was deliberate and asked people to avoid sharing videos about the incident and subsequent social media investigation. Police did not say how many people were injured.

There have been several recent vehicles in Germany. Two weeks ago, a 24 -year -old Afghan man looking for asylum deliberately led to a trade union demonstration in Munich, killing a 2 -year -old and her mother and injuring several dozen others.
And in December, a Saudi Arabian doctor who lived in Germany for more than a decade was suspected of driving his car to a Christmas market in the central city of Magdeburg, killing six people and injuring hundreds of others.
In Mannheim, the driver entered the city center only for pedestrians from the milestone tower and led about 700 meters to the square known as Paradeplatz. The incident happened at about 12:15 pm, according to police, when the crowds enjoyed insignificant hot weather.
The detached pieces of the car could appear along the route of the vehicle, the media reports.
One day earlier, a parade with 70 floats and 2,500 participants passed from the same zone to an annual Carnival Celebration. Police said about 250,000 people were watching.
Mannheim, who has a population of about 320,000, was in the titles last year, when an Afghan citizen living in Germany killed people in a far -right demonstration, killing a police officer who hadtened to stop the attack.
