Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, British American online influences in Romania for two years for criminal investigations, have left the country for the United States, Joseph McBride, a lawyer, said in the United States.
The brothers boarded a private jet in Romania early on Thursday morning and are expected to land at an airport in southern Florida on Thursday morning, Mr McBride said.
Their sudden departure from Romania asked questions about whether Trump’s administration, which Andrew Tate was openly aligned, played any role. Romanian officials said the United States had not put pressure on them, and the Tate Brothers lawyer, who has greatly exerted on US legislators on their behalf, said he could not comment on whether US officials had used their power.
Still, lawyer, Joseph McBride, added: “Do Mathematics. These types are on the plane.”
Answering questions about the brothers, they told a news release that they were still conducting criminal investigations against two British citizens. They did not name people, but said they were able to leave Romania and had to “appear before the judicial authorities whenever they were called”.
The Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Tates’ lawyer, Mr McBride, had supported on behalf of their legislators in the Capitol who returned until 2023, he said. He had developed contacts in Congress to a large extent through his legal representation of many people who were charged with the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, but his defense for Tates does not seem to be gaining a large market until President Trump is re -elected.
In recent weeks, brothers have been more strongly aligned with President Trump. “The tates will be free, Trump is the president. The good old days are back,” Andrew Tate told X this month.
The Tate brothers faced a prolonged legal battle with prosecutors in Romania, who demanded them by trafficking in people and creating an organized crime group. According to Romanian prosecutors, the brothers misled many women to believe they wanted a relationship with them. The women were housed in a union near Bucharest and were forced to appear in online pornographic videos, prosecutors said.
The tates have repeatedly denied all the allegations against them. They successfully brought this indictment to a Bucharest court, which found that the case did not meet the claims for trial.
Prosecutors in Romania have since stated that they are investigating the brothers against other charges of trafficking in human beings and money laundering.
Andrew Tate, a former Kickboxer known for his sexist views, promoted a brand of masculinity associated with rich wealth demonstrations. According to an archived page on his website removed since then, Mr. Tate described a method he said made him rich.
“My job was to meet a girl, go on a few dates, sleep with her, try if it is quality, falling in love with her where she would do anything and then take her to the camera so we can be rich together,” he said. He claimed to have worked with “over 75 girls” in the area.
Travel restrictions on Tate brothers were lifted on Wednesday, according to Romanian authorities. The Romanian Foreign Ministry said US officials had not intervened. “In Romania, the judiciary is independent and is the only power that has the power to make decisions in ongoing investigation or trial,” one statement said.
The Financial Times reported this month that US officials had urged Romania to lift the restrictions on the brothers. Richard Grenell, a specialist to the United States and a close ally of Trump, said the case with the country’s Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at the Munich Security Conference this month, according to the report.
Mr Grenell told an email on Thursday that he had no problem with Mr Hurezeanu.
Mr Hurezeanu had a “focused exchange” with Mr Grenell at the conference, the country’s foreign ministry said in a position in X at the time. The two officials “covered current issues of common interest” between the two countries, the ministry said, but the position did not mention the Tate brothers.
Romania’s Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu told social media last week that the US “has not made requests” by Romania for the “legal status of well -known foreign influences investigated by the Romanian authorities”, while recognizing a “discussion” between Mr Grenell and the Foreign Ministry.
A spokesman for Mr Tate, Mateea Petrescu, said a Bucharest court had ruled in favor of the Tate brothers on Thursday, lifting a seizure to some of their assets. The assets included two properties, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and four other vehicles, bank accounts and shares of the company.
Mr McBride said that a case of defamation brought by the brothers against a woman in Florida, who accused them of trafficking in human beings, included evidence that the criminal case in Romania was weak. He added that the argument of the brothers was victims of an armed justice system in Romania, reacted with officials to a administration run by Mr Trump, who has charged a weapon of justice at the heart of his political campaigns and presidential.
The brothers were also arrested in Romania in March 2024 with a separate warrant issued by the British authorities accusing them of commercial trade in human beings. A Bucharest court had ruled that the brothers should be issued in Britain after the resolution of Romanian cases. It was not clear on Thursday what would be the outcome of this issuance decision.
Four British women also sued Andrew Tate in 2024, claiming that he had raped and abused them. Matthew’s jury, a lawyer representing women, said Thursday on social media that the Trump administration had put pressure on their release was “disgusting and frustrating”.
He called on the British government to “take immediate steps” to ensure that the brothers would face the charges against them in Britain. “Any suggestion that Tates will now face justice in Romania is fantastic,” he said.
Earlier this month, an American woman who gave evidence to the Romanian authorities sued the brothers for allegedly attracting her to Romania and forcing her to sexual work, the first costume to the United States against the Tates. The brothers had brought her a lawsuit for defamation, arguing that her testimony was built.
Dani Pinter, the senior vice -president of the National Center for sexual exploitation, called on the United States to investigate the tate brothers for sexual exploitation of minors abroad and for sexuality. “This is a slap on the face of all the victims of the tate brothers, especially the US victim who is not protected by her country,” she said on Thursday.
