A large 7.6 -magnitude earthquake hit the Caribbean on Saturday night, causing a tsunami warning in much of the area, such as Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Honduras and Cuba. The warning later refused.
The earthquake hit about 130 miles southwest of George’s city, Cayman islands, at 6:23 pm Local time, according to American geological research. The tsunami warning system has raised its warnings for the whole area by 9 pm
A 0.1 -foot wave was recorded by the coast of Isla Mujeres in Mexico, the organization said.
The Cuban Seismological Institute said the earthquake had felt in the western parts of the island, including the province of Cienfuegos and Isla de la Juventud.
