At least three workers were killed and seven others were injured when part of a highway site collapsed in South Korea on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Emergency crews were looking through the ruins for the victims, the South Korean National Fire Service said. The collapse occurred around 9:50 am Near the city of Cheonan, which is about 50 miles south of Seoul, the capital.
The collapse occurred during the construction of a bridge connecting parts of the highway, said Yonhap, a South Korean news agency. Five steel beams that support the bridge, each length of about 164 feet, collapsed one after the other, the news agency said.
A video published by Yonhap shows part of a structure supported by columns breaking in pieces and sinking to the ground.
This is a growing story.
